Introduced as part of Universal Genève’s Altesse collection, this Ref. 842101 reflects the brand’s focus on ultra-thin dress watches during the early 1970s. The Altesse line was built around slim manual-wind movements and understated case designs, creating watches meant to sit low on the wrist and slip easily beneath a shirt cuff.
The 31mm stainless steel case houses a clean white dial with bold black Roman numerals and slim painted black stick hands. With no seconds hand or date window, the dial keeps a simple, balanced appearance. The watch retains its signed crown. Textured surfaces at the ends of the case continue into the original stainless steel mesh bracelet, which is finished with a signed Universal Genève clasp.
Powered by the Universal Genève Caliber 1-42 manual-wind movement. Measuring under 2.5mm thick, the movement allows the complete watch to remain just 8mm in thickness. The movement has been serviced and is running well.
The watch presents in good overall condition. The case and crystal have light scratches and scuffs consistent with age, but no major damage. The original dial remains in excellent condition. The mesh bracelet shows some surface oxidation and wear.
The original stainless steel mesh bracelet fits wrists up to approximately 8 inches.
