Breitling introduced the Top Time in the mid-1960s for a younger generation, and it became wildly popular after being worn by James Bond in the 1965 film Thunderball.
This competition chronograph features a sharp gold-plated case, a matte black “reverse panda” dial with two contrasting sub-dials, gold hands and hour markers, square pushers, and a tachymeter scale for drivers who want to calculate their average speed while racing. The case and dial are in remarkable shape for a 60-year-old watch, with a creamy patina on the dial and some oxidation on the case.
Powered by a Venus 188 manual wind movement, it has just been serviced and is running excellently. Paired with a Hirsch leather strap, this beautiful example checks all the boxes for a classic vintage chronograph.
