The Reference 7919 is a unique "sleeper" in the 1950s Tudor lineup, featuring a rare 20mm lug width on its 35mm Oyster case. While most Oysterdates from this era utilize 19mm lug spacing, this subtle increase in width provides a more balanced profile and makes the watch significantly easier to pair with a wide range of strap or bracelet options.
This Tudor displays a beautifully aged cream dial featuring the printed “Small Rose” logo beneath twelve o’clock, with “TUDOR OYSTERDATE” above center and “SHOCK-RESISTING” at six o’clock. The layout is Explorer-style, with stylized gold-toned Arabic numerals at twelve, six, and nine paired with gold-toned arrowhead markers. Gold-toned Dauphine hands and a heat-blued seconds hand complete the dial design. The original tritium lume has aged to a natural pumpkin patina, with loss to some lume plots and hand surfaces but nothing significant. A roulette date wheel displays alternating red and black numerals. The case features drilled lug holes and is fitted with a coronet-signed Twinlock crown.
Powered by the Tudor Caliber 1182 manual-wind movement with 17 jewels. Service history is unknown, but it is running well.
The case and crystal show scratches and scuffs throughout that are consistent with age, but no major damage. Overall, the watch presents in very good condition for its age.
Paired with a Hirsch leather strap.
