Produced during the early years of the Seamaster collection, this 1956 Ref. 2577-22 SC represents Omega’s first generation of automatic Seamasters. The “SC” designation stands for seconde centrale, referring to the central sweep seconds configuration.

The 34mm gold-capped case houses a warm cream/champagne honeycomb dial with applied gold faceted arrowhead hour markers and a double marker at twelve o’clock. Gold Dauphine hands are accompanied by a matching central sweep seconds hand. The dial also features an applied Omega logo, “OMEGA AUTOMATIC” signature, and cursive “Seamaster” script. The watch retains its signed Omega crown.

Powered by the Omega Caliber 354 bumper automatic movement. Rather than using a full rotating rotor, the bumper winding system moves through a limited arc inside the case, giving these early Omega automatics their characteristic feel on the wrist. Fully serviced and running well.

The watch presents in good overall condition. The case and crystal have scratches and scuffs consistent with age, but no major damage. There is light corrosion and oxidation along the backside of the case and lugs, along with light oxidation to the gold cap.

Paired with a brown Hirsch leather strap and fitted with a vintage Omega buckle.

Note: Each watch is photographed with a high-powered macro lens to highlight every detail. As a result, fine scratches or surface marks may appear more pronounced than they do to the naked eye.
